I work around Hispanic construction workers all day, all of whom speak Spanish first, English only if they have to talk to me or their boss.

Since I don’t know a word of Spanish, I write dialogues in my head about what they’re talking about throughout the day. You know, like the stagnation of environmentalism, global economic structures, what it means to be virtuous.
